New Mexico Rivers named #1 America’s Most Endangered Rivers® 2024 report

The America’s Most Endangered Rivers® report of American Rivers placed New Mexico rivers as the most endangered rivers in the nation, following the 2023 Supreme Court ruling of Sackett v. EPA, which removed federal clean water protections for ephemeral streams, leaving the New Mexico rivers unprotected. State regulations must now be put in place to protect wetlands, streams and rivers of New Mexico.
